Five members of the association received congratulations and diplomas, in recognition of their musical activities
Jean-Paul Laprêt received the gold medal with a star, for 58 years of activity in musical societies.
The tradition was respected in a beautiful way this Sunday by the members of the Harmonie du Creusot gathered at the Château de la Verrerie on the occasion of the Sainte Cécile, patron saint of musicians.
From the outset, Céline Carton-Pétraz recalled that it was a day dedicated to friendship and conviviality.
The president of the association then had to thank the elected representatives present: David Marti, mayor of Le Creusot and Jérémy Pinto deputy mayor, delegate for culture and animation, thanked for their financial and material assistance granted each year. The president later gave information on the Harmony, underlining some changes such as the arrival of Philippe Bouillot the new musical director who succeeds Bruno Fourneray who has resigned.
“Despite what we have just gone through, despite these confinements, we have never lost sight of each other, our friendship, our passion for music means that we have always remained in contact, by phone, thanks to social networks, thanks to aperitifs virtual too. It is this conviviality and this deep-rooted friendship that make the strength of our association… ”. The Harmony today, has 37 musicians up to date with their contributions, they are between 11 and 82 years old.
“We left on a good dynamic, the health crisis and the fact that we found ourselves without a director this summer could have made us lose foot, make us lose musicians, but none of that, we stayed the course. All the members of the Board of Directors have ensured that our association continues. And to see new musicians arrive, to see the happy faces after each rehearsal and to experience all these moments of camaraderie, of friendship, justifies all the efforts made to continue to bring the Harmonie du Creusot to life, ”explained Céline.
David Marti said he was very happy to see the Harmony revive in a dynamic way after this difficult period of health crisis. “The automatisms are back, the work is done seriously … we are lucky here to have a Harmony, to preserve this association which takes part in the events of the city, the public always responds favorably, it is a real recognition …”. On the small loss of members due to the Covid: “It’s general, we must give time to time, keep this in mind! »Said the mayor before thanking the Harmony which participates in the promotion of music, especially among young people.
