The National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and the Pablo Cassará Foundation, through the Institute of Science and Technology Dr. César Milstein (ICT Milstein, CONICET-Pablo Cassará Foundation), launch the first edition of the “César Milstein Award – For research in biotechnology with an impact on Health”.

This Award -which is part of the tribute year to the Nobel Prize in Medicine César Milstein– It is an award that seeks to give visibility to the results of research that can contribute to the development of products or processes in biotechnology and to promote public-private articulation in the specific field of human health.

From October 25 to November 12, scientists and / or R&D groups from both the public and private spheres, will be able to present themselves for the Prize with scientific and / or technological-based projects in the field of biotechnology. They must be framed in one of the following areas of knowledge: Immunology, Preventive Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, Microbiology and Oncology.

It is important to clarify that it is not necessary to belong to an institution to be presented for the Award. The applicant can be any Argentine citizen over 18 years of age, with legal domicile in the Argentine territory who has a project of national origin (executed and developed in the territory of the Argentine Republic). Membership in CONICET is not an exclusive requirement.

In general terms, the objective of this Award is to stimulate scientific, technological and productive development in Argentina, to promote the transfer of knowledge generated in the public or private sphere to society and to the productive sphere, as a key to progress towards economies and societies. more developed.

Likewise, this award seeks to make visible the work of male and female researchers, highlight their contribution in the generation of knowledge and contribute to the social dissemination of science, research, innovation and technological development, as well as capabilities and skills. knowledge produced in the scientific field.

The Winning Project will obtain 1,500,000 pesos. Two mentions will also be awarded, the first will receive 1,000,000 pesos and the second, 500,000 pesos.
