The Chamber of Industries promotes a conference with Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel Prize in Economics

Within the framework of its 90 years of institutional life, the National Chamber of Industries – CNI with the support of the REDEmpleo project, funded by the European Union, will hold the International Conference of the Year on October 22 with the theme: “Economic Growth, Employability and Sustainability ”, which will count as a special guest for the Nobel Prize in Economics, PH.D. Joseph Stiglitz.

Joseph Stiglitz is a renowned economist, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1967 and obtained his professorship at Yale in 1970. He taught at Princeton, Stanford and MIT itself and was a Fellow from the Oxford Business School. Currently, he is Professor of Economics and Finance at Columbia University in New York.

The lecturer is recognized for being one of those responsible for the rules that govern today’s economy and a forerunner of what we know as the Information Economy, continually developing studies on market failures caused by information asymmetries and It managed to guide the intervention policies, in matters of economy, employability and sustainability in the main developed countries.

This important meeting is expected to promote the competitiveness of the industry, economic growth, preservation and generation of jobs, sustainability and development of the country, based on sustainable development with an impact on the aspects: economic, social and environmental.

The conference will also benefit and enrich knowledge about the perspectives of the global, regional and national economy, how these can influence the objectives of generating employment opportunities and employability for young people who are part of the REDEmpleoy project for the reactivation of the economy of Bolivia, with economic and social development.

The conference will have the participation of authorities and personalities from the public and private sector of the country, businessmen, industrialists, students and all those interested in the subject.
