The Seville City Council, governed by the socialist Juan Espadas, already has a dozen new programs to promote tourism in the city at an international level with the aim of helping the sector and the economy of Seville recover after the situation experienced by the pandemic caused by the coronavirus.
These actions will tour cities such as Berlin, Vienna, London or Singapore, even carrying out one of the promotions of the ‘Sevilla brand at the Latin Grammy party, which is held in the American city of Las Vegas, by the hand of Turespaña.
This promotional strategy is part of the actions planned by the Congresses and Tourism of Seville (Contursa), a company dependent on the City Council, which, since the launch of the new city brand in May and until the end of this year, expects to reach fifty promotional actions in the Andalusian capital, both in Spain and abroad, with an estimated budget of 1.9 million euros.
Specifically, among the tourist events planned abroad for the remainder of the year are participation in the event organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) in London; at the fair specialized in the segment of congresses and events IMEX Las Vegas, a city in which there will also be a promotion at the Latin Grammy party; the presentation of Seville in the city of Vienna or attendance at the World Routes Milan, the largest international aviation and air connectivity fair.
Also, a new presentation of the city will be held in Paris and the ITB Asia will be held in Singapore, the most important fair in the area; virtually at Ciftis China, the China International Trade Fair for Services, and in person at ICEF Berlin, a fair organized by the educational services company ICEF.
In this sense, it must be taken into account that in May 2022 the ICEF Spanish Education, the first congress of student agencies specialized in educational programs in Spanish, will be held at the Seville Conference and Exhibition Center (Fibes). In fact, Fibes will be the permanent venue for this congress.
“This effort in the promotional work of the Seville destination was contemplated in the Plan8 to promote tourism and also in the plenary reactivation agreements. It is about facing the tourist recovery, positioning the new brand, which is not only tourist but is also at the service of attracting investment in other areas of the economy, and maintaining the pulse of the national and international projection of the city “, explained the delegate of Urban Habitat, Culture and Tourism, the socialist Antonio Muñoz.
