The BAFTA ceremony, the British cinema awards, was held on the evening of Sunday 11 April. The event was marked by the triumph of the film “Nomadland”, which won four awards.

The 74th BAFTA ceremony

Organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), the 74th British Academy Film Awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall (London), Sunday April 11. It rewarded the films released in 2020. The event was held without an audience due to the coronavirus crisis.

Four awards for the film “Nomadland”

“Nomadland”, the hymn to the glory of modern hippies crisscrossing the United States, had the biggest success of the evening. It won 4 awards: best film, best director for Chloé Zhao, best actress for the American Frances McDormand and best photography.

Anthony Hopkins sacred “best actor”

Regarding the actors, Anthony Hopkins was awarded for his role in the film “The Father”, directed by Florian Zeller and who received the BAFTA of the best adapted scenario. The price of “the rising star” was awarded to actress Bukky Bakray for the film “Rocks”, which features a group of teenage girls making their first steps in cinema.
