Discover on Bulles de Culture all the information, predictions, results and winners of this 93rd edition of the Oscars.

OSCARS 2021 favorites

With 10 nominations to its credit, the film Mank of David Fincher, available on Netflix, favorite part of this 2021 edition of the Oscars. Autobiographical feature film follows scriptwriter’s writing of the masterpiece Citizen Kane Herman J. Mankiewicz, whose name has not passed down to posterity, unlike its director Orson Welles.

Behind Mank, movies The Father, Minari, Nomadland, Sound of Metal and Chicago Seven will wage a fierce battle each with 6 nominations. Among the nominations, the French theater director, Florian Zeller, sees his first steps as a director already crowned with success and recognition.

Le Blues de Ma Rainey, Promising Young Woman and Judas and the Black Messiah behind the favorites with 5 nominations each. While The Mission with Tom Hanks is nominated 4 times, One night in Miami, Drunk are 3 times.

The 2021 Oscars ceremony will take place live between Union Square Station to host the star-studded parterre and the Dolby Theater Cinema for musical performances. The event will be presented by the actors Harrison ford and Reese Whitherspoon, accompanied by laureates of the past year such as Brad pitt, Joaquin phoenix, Renée Zellweger or the director Bong Joon-Ho.

Unlike other Hollywood awards, the organizers have specified that there will be ” a truly galactic areopagus of stars“, Announcing that evening dresses will be de rigueur on a red carpet that promises to be worth the look. On the technical side, the academy wants to make this ceremony not an ordinary awards evening, but a real cinematographic event, like a reunion film. The usual Oscar-winning director, Glenn Weiss, will therefore be under the production of Steven Soderbergh.
