Amarillo Labor Day Picnic

The Amarillo Central Labor Council will host the annual Labor Day Picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Gazebo at Memorial Park on Amarillo College’s Washington Street campus.
The picnic is open to union members, retirees and their families.
Abel G. Bosquez of Amarillo will announce his candidacy for Texas State representative District 87 at 1 p.m.
Mayor Bill White of Houston, candidate for the U.S. Senate, will arrive at 1:30 p.m. and depart to Lubbock at 3 p.m.
A candidate for Texas governor, Hank Gilbert of Tyler, will arrive Sunday evening for a get-together with local Democrats and will be at the picnic until 2 p.m. Monday and then will head to Lubbock.
